Thank you for visiting our homepage and website. Hopefully you will find what you came to look for whether it is information on our products, or current prices for meat and feed, or just to find out where we are and what we do.

Let's start by introducing ourselves. Simon & Amanda, husband & wife team currently based in Fowlmere less than 9 miles from Cambridge center. We started our own herd of free range Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs in January 2006 on some rented farm land on the edge of our village. We both have our own full time jobs, so the farming is an interest and hobby. We started out to see how we got on producing our own high quality, high welfare meat, with a view to selling extra meat to local community and friends in bulk.

Things have developed and we now have a small herd of registered Gloucesters which live outside in traditional arcs all year round. All the piglets we produce are kept free ranging in separate paddocks from the breeding stock in family groups until they are finished. Also we sell a few pedigree weaners from each litter for people to rear and finish themselves.

We have kept the process small scale and completely traditional in farming terms, so animals are raised in a totally extensive unstressed environment. We use a small local family run butchers with their own abattoirs attached. This ensures that the animals are slaughtered and butchered locally with absolute minimal stress and with the personal touch and assurances that can only be guaranteed where you can maintain a personal relationship with your suppliers.

Over time we have tried to maintain as much control as possible over the process of delivery from farm to plate. We have attained 5 stars from environmental health as a result of our handling systems and processes. We are dealing only with raw meat and cured bacon.

We do try to listen to our customers and cater for the majority. We have developed our own reduced salt and reduced preservative sausage mixes to complement the meat, and our home produced dry cured back bacon will continue to be a favorite for those of you who like real bacon.
